How to create a sugar scrub

If you’ve been following me long enough you know that I’m always baking something.  The problem with constantly being in the kitchen, means I’m constantly washing my hands.  As a cookie artist, it is imperative that my hands and fingernails stay clean all the time.  From airbrush colors to gel food colors my hands really take a beating!

One of the ways I manage my skincare routine is by using a sugar scrub.  I learned about sugar scrubs and how to make them a few years ago when my cousin was planning a shower and created her own little jars of scrubs.

This process isn’t very hard and you only need a few ingredients to make it happen.  Most often I use my sugar scrubs during the colder months to keep my hands soft but you can totally use this on your entire body if need be!  Just rinse well!

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 8 drops of essential oils

  • One drop of food coloring (optional)

Make sure you have some mason jars or airtight containers to keep the scrub fresh!
